Lisa Bubert is a writer, occasional journalist, and full-time public librarian living in Nashville, TN. Her fiction, essays, and journalism have been widely published in literary journals, magazines, and popular publications, such as Texas Highways, Longreads, West Branch, and more. Her work has been recognized by Best of American Essays, and nominated for Best Small Fictions, and a Pushcart Prize. Her Longreads essay, “Safety Net,” which explored her experiences working as a public librarian, was featured on PopShift’s 2025 IP List, a shortlist of narrative nonfiction ideal for screen adaptation. She is a member of the 2026 Bread Loaf Writers Conference cohort.

Lisa is currently seeking representation to support both her fiction and non-fiction career.

I grew up in Central Texas on ten acres of land situated between one small town and another.
